During the winter and early part of the spring, we have these two lovely guests stay with us for over a month. They came to Destin because of referrals from family and friends, and only planned on staying a few days. Week after week, they continued to extend their reservation because they enjoyed themselves so much. Their wasn't one day when they walked past the front desk without a smile. 1st Annual Candlewood Holiday Party!

On Sunday, we had our first annual holiday party with all of our employees and their families. It was a lot of fun and the food was amazing! Hurricane Ike Evacuees Recieve FEMA Assistance for Hotel Stay

As of 9.16.2008, the Candlewood Destin is now registered as a FEMA hotel. If you are in a Texas or Louisiana disaster area, you can stay at our Destin Location complimentary with FEMA assitance. FEMA will only pay for room and tax. Pet fees, long distance calls and room damages are guest responsibilities.

If you are a guest and need FEMA assistance, register online at www.fema.gov. You will receive a registration number which allows you access to FEMA assistance. FEMA is offering assistance all the way through October 15th. Please call the front desk for more details at 850-337-3770.

Grand Opening On Tuesday, September 16th!

We are very excited to finally make our debut in the community with our grand opening celebration. The event will be held at the hotel from 4:30pm-7:30pm on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008. Food & beverage will be provided by Carrabbas Italian Grill and Vintij Wine Boutique. Great prizes will be given from local area vendors such as Melting pot, Carrabbas, Sarak K's Gourmet, Coke, Bookit.com and more!

Gustov Evacuees Find Home At the Candlewood Destin

Three years after Hurricane Katrina devistated New Orleans and the Central Gulf Coast, residents packed up once again and left as Gustov approached. Although Destin was under a tropical storm warning, it was safe bet for most families who thought they could make a vacation out of an evacuation.

Because all Candlewood Suites hotels are pet friendly, it was a popular choice and allowed families to stay together during these rough times. Not to mention, our full kitchens provided the family style dining atmosphere in which most evacuees preferred.

Our staff worked very hard to make all of our guests feel relaxed and comfortable. It's never easy to leave something behind that your family worked so hard to achieve. We want to wish all of our evacuees good luck on their return home!
